Who we are
Launched in April 2010, by Karel Mc Intosh, Outlish.com is a weekly, online, lifestyle magazine that celebrates individuality, passion, and innovation. Fun and adventurous. Fresh and real. We’re insightful and relevant, with creative flair and high, editorial standards. Our mission is to inform, inspire, and empower our audience.
Every Monday, we religiously publish original content. From inspiring interviews with young, under-the-radar people – from all walks of life – who are ‘out there’ going after their dreams, to editorial on entrepreneurship, personal development, careers, relationships, culture, and social issues, Outlish provides fresh perspectives on life in T&T and the Caribbean in a light, witty, and stimulating way that relates to readers’ life stages, aspirations, values, and needs. Our readers don’t just read. They connect with our content.
Mainstream media hasn’t even begun to truly showcase the innovation and talent resident in young T&T. Outlish.com was created to do just this. We are the ‘new media’, producing content that represents a positive and empowered generation. No other media in T&T tells stories the way that we do.
Digital liming ground
We’re a prime, digital liming ground. With 20,000 monthly, unique visits, on average, we grew by 340% (as of December 2010) in our launch year*. This sort of growth is phenomenal, and clearly shows that Outlish has been embraced by our audience.
Outlish.com has also received international acclaim, as a Finalist for “Magazine Launch of the Year” in the 2010 Global Digital Magazine Awards, which “showcases the best digital magazines”, and is judged by media powerhouses such as Microsoft UK, QuarkXPress®, WIRED Magazine, and The Guardian (UK).
What’s special about Outlish is that we’re totally supported by our community, crowdsourcing and collaborating to create compelling content. In addition to our team of young writers, readers contribute, writing, and suggesting story ideas. Outlish is thus authentic, articulate, and relevant. We’re tapping into the pulse of digital Trinis, creating a truly engaged, online community.
Not just a magazine. Outlish is a movement.
